$500 non-refundable retainer is due upon receiving the contract. This will hold the date on the contract.
Do we pick the music for the highlight video?
We have access to an archive of music we use for wedding videos. You normally do not get to pick the music due to copyright laws. We have over a decade of video editing experience and we know what songs go well with some videos and what don't.
WHAT DONT YOU FILM?
We do not film everything. Our goal is to tell the story of the wedding day with out you getting bored with the video. We don't film receiving lines, cocktail hour, guest interviews or the entire family photo session. That doesn't mean we are not still working. During those times we capture the detail shots of your day to help tell the story. During the family photo session we still record most of it but we usually only include the main family groups in the full video. We do not record every pose the photographer puts you in because they don't always translate well to video. Receiving lines and cocktail hour does not translate well to video. We no longer do guest interviews. This is a older style that leads to many headaches. It makes the guests very uncomfortable and reflex on us. Also we do not know what comments you want or don't want in you video. If there is something you would like to ask if it is included please don't hesitate to ask. I'm happy to help
What does the Full video look like?
The full video is a film of the day, spending more time on the formal parts of the day to show them in full length. Duration: 20mins-1 Hour It opens with a montage of the getting ready process. Then you will see all the formal parts of the ceremony in full. For religious ceremonies, things like gospel songs, mass, and communion can be edited out.
You will see a few clips from the family photo session(mainly direct family). During the bridal party and couple photo shoot we will capture video and edit it to music. There will then be a montage of clips of the reception location, and details. Introductions, toasts, and formal dances will be in full. The remainder of the night will be edited down and end with a montage of dancing and festivities.
How long does it take to get the final video?
I edit all weddings in the order they are videoed. It can range between 1-4 months. It all depends on what time of year it is. Summer/Fall tends to be the busy time.
How do the payments work?
The $500 retainer is due upon booking the date. The remaining balance is due on the wedding day if cash or two weeks prior if by check or digital payment. We accept Venmo, Zelle, cash or check.
Do YOU USE LIGHTS AT THE WEDDING?
For some parts of the wedding I do use video lights on light stands. I do not use lights during the ceremony. I use lights for the Introductions, formal dances, toasts, garter/bouquet and cake cutting. During the non formal parts of the reception I turn the lights off so they are not distracting to you or your guests. The lights make a big difference in the quality of your film.
Do I need a second videographer?
You do not need two videographers but it is highly recommended. Having two shooters opens up more possibilities for creative shots and helps assure things are captured from the best angles. Also you do not need to have a second shooter there the full time Brian is there. Example: You can book Brian for 8 hours and have the second shooter for 6 hours. Having a second shooter present for the ceremony and formal parts of the reception is when they're the most helpful.
